Christmas crafts. I both love them and hate them.
I love creating things with my kids and making memories but…oh, the mess and the clean-up. One year the kids and I made snowflakes from glue and glitter. They were gorgeous! So we stuck them all over our living room walls. To this day, our walls still sparkle.
No. More. Glitter.
This year we made these easy little coffee filter snowflakes that I remember making when I was a kid. We actually used to dye them after we cut them out but I decided that’s really unrealistic. Who’s ever seen a colorful snowflake? And who wants to get the food coloring out anyway…not me. White snowflakes will do just fine.
Coffee Filter Snowflakes
To make these super easy coffee filter snowflakes you’ll need:
- Disc Coffee Filters
- Scissors
I know, so easy, huh!!
Start by taking a coffee filter and folding it in half. Keep folding it in half until you get a nice tight triangle shape.
The more folds you make, the prettier and more complex your snowflake will turn out.
Make little snips into your triangle. Be careful, though, and always supervise your kiddos.
Be creative and try all kinds of different angles and designs.
Turn on some Christmas music and get the whole family involved!
Even Daddy got into the action and made a snowflake with us today.
When you’re done snipping, unfold your snowflake to view your awesome, creative, all-original design!
We put little bits of two-sided tape on the backs of our snowflakes and stuck them on our windows. But you can scatter them around on a shelf or mantel too, to create a snowy scene. Be careful, once you get started making these little snowflakes, you’ll be addicted.
