Apple Cider Vinegar Drink

apple cider vinegar drink

We take a ridiculous amount of supplements every morning.

It takes me at least a half an hour in the morning to get all of our supplements together. It’s crazy. But I absolutely hate getting sick so spending extra time in the kitchen is worth not spending extra time in bed.

A lot of the supplements we take are preventative care supplements and I really do think they help us stay well.

Someday I’ll share about all the different supplements we take but for today I want to talk about Apple Cider Vinegar.

How I Take Apple Cider Vinegar

I take 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a large glass of water every morning.

I won’t lie. It doesn’t taste good. At all. In fact, it’s straight up awful.

Some people say that after they’ve gotten used to the taste, they love it and crave it. They must be crazy. I’ve been doing this ACV thing every day for over a year and it hasn’t grown on me yet. It’s still really gross and I still dislike drinking it just as much as I did when I first began. That’s the honest to goodness truth.

However…the health benefits make. it. worth. it.

First, you must know, not all apple cider vinegars are the same.

Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar stands out from the crowd because it has never been heated, meaning that it is a raw “live food” and still contains all of the beneficial live cultures and enzymes. Distilled vinegars are dead and do not contain the beneficial minerals and enzymes that we are after.

When you go to purchase Apple Cider Vinegar be sure to look for Braggs’ raw unfiltered brand!

Apple Cider Vinegar Health Benefits

Even though the stuff isn’t easy to swallow, I drink it down happily for all the wonderful health benefits it gives me.

There are so many great things about ACV…

– aids in digestion by restoring beneficial bacteria in the gut

– restores the body’s Ph balance by creating an alkaline environment

– contains active enzymes, vitamins, and minerals

– works to flush out toxins and waste

– supports a healthy heart by regulating blood flow and cholesterol levels

– helps promote clear skin and healthy shiny hair

– boosts the immune system with vital nutrients (love this one!)

Want more reasons to drink ACV? Here’s an exhaustive list plus some interesting facts as well!

So, what if you want the health benefits but you aren’t ready to commit to drinking something so, ahem, gagable?

I got you covered.

Did I tell you my kids drink this stuff? Yes, they do! And without complaint. Well, most of the time anyway.

Braggs sells some wonderful ACV beverages that are much more palatable. After looking at the ingredients they use in their beverages and finding different recipes online we came up with our own recipe that the kids seem to like pretty well.

Apple Cider Vinegar Drink

Ingredients

1 and 1/4 cup purified water

2 tablespoons Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar

4 generous tablespoons organic apple or grape juice

a sprinkle of cinnamon

optional: you can add a little honey but I found it didn’t mix in very well and the kids didn’t notice when I took it out anyway

Directions

Mix all ingredients together well, using a whisk!

Enjoy!

This recipe makes one large glass or two smaller servings, such as the glass pictured.
