Every bedroom in our home has sliding mirror closet doors.
I loathe them.
When we first considered buying this house I said, “Well, if we decide on this house, these hideous eyesores absolutely must go.”
But go, they didn’t.
So for years we’ve been living in, that’s right, The House of Mirrors. Ha!
Besides the obvious ugly factor, having mirrors all over the place means you catch glimpses of yourself All. The. Time.
As much as I dislike seeing my bed head hair paired with my pasty white complexion 87 times a day, I guess it’s been beneficial in that I’ve realized I scowl far too often.
After catching myself with a scowl one day, I realized that really isn’t the look I’m going for. Regardless of how irritable or frustrated I’m feeling, I really need to work on not wearing my heart on my sleeve, or on my face as the case may be.
So, while I work on not scrunching up my face, here are 7 Things I’m Loving Right Now. By the way, these things never make me scowl… <grins>
7 Things I’m Loving Right Now
1. Amika Hair Mask
This creamy hair product is hands down the best conditioner/mask I’ve ever used.
With all my flat ironing and blow drying, my hair can get pretty lifeless. This mask gives it that bounce again and it makes my hair soft as butter. It smells really nice, too. I love this stuff!
2. Truly Ouchless
Has anyone tried these yet? Oh, how I love these!
Unlike Band-Aids, that seem to be made of super glue and duct tape, these ouchless bandages are painless and easy to remove. Sometimes dealing with a Band-Aid can be almost as bad as the owie itself. After discovering these Curad bandages, I never want to be without.
3. Sidetracked by Brandilyn Collins
I haven’t read for pleasure in a long long time. If I have time to read, I’m usually reading marriage, parenting, or homeschooling books. It has been so nice to dive into a suspenseful mystery book again!
I’m over halfway done reading this one and so far it’s really good. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
4. Martha Stewart’s Bath Rug
It may look like a regular old bath rug but I promise you, it’s not. It’s the most luxurious bath rug your feet will ever touch.
When we were on vacation earlier this year, I was so astonished at how plush the bath rug was in our room. I immediately flipped it over to find out the brand name. It was a “Martha Stewart Ultimate Plush” bath rug. I got home and found them online from Macy’s. Best decision ever! Even after months of use, my Martha Stewart bath rug is just as plush as the day I bought it. Maybe not as white, but just as plush.
5. Cookies & Cream Ice Cream
I discovered an unbelievably delicious new (to me) ice cream: Straus Organic Cookies & Cream. And it’s gluten-free, too.
Usually we make ice cream from scratch with milk, cream, honey, and berries, but sometimes I indulge in some of Straus’ deliciousness. A special treat…just because.
6. Bible Verse Wall Art
Isaiah 41:10 is my life verse. God has used this verse in many ways in my life and now whenever I see it, I’m reminded that He loves me, He sees me, He knows me, and I am His.
This beautiful wall art is by Ruth at Gracelaced, and it so beautifully graces my wall.
7. Sketchers Go Step
Wearing these shoes is like walking on sunshine! Made out of yoga mats, these shoes are the most comfortable flats I’ve ever worn. They’re soooo comfy! I wear them doing errands or out on a walk. They feel great without socks!
I’m not sure if they’re all that cute. Maybe I should’ve picked a different color because I fear they look old lady-ish. Do they? Anyway, I don’t think I care. They make my feet happy!
