Wanna know what we made today?
Allergy friendly s’mores!
Very very exciting!
And they were pretty good, too.
I found this homemade graham cracker recipe at Health Starts in the Kitchen.
I already had all of the ingredients on hand so we whipped these up quickly. I love that these use coconut flour instead of almond flour. We all get to enjoy these treats!
The Urban Poser created the delicious marshmallow recipe I used. I’ve made her marshmallow recipe many times now and it’s never failed me.
I didn’t add chocolate to our s’mores since chocolate and I recently had to break up. Cry! But it was giving me health issues so it had to go. However, if you want to add chocolate to your s’mores you can make homemade honey-sweetened chocolate with this recipe from Our Nourishing Roots.
We roasted our marshmallows over the grill and they did really well. I was sure they’d just melt right into the fire. Nope! They were pretty awesome. But very verrry sticky!! And I’m so coordinated, I somehow got it all over in my hair… Yeah, I was a sticky mess.
But these were the perfect treat after our 4th of July BBQ.
Besides our backyard BBQ, this morning we also attended the local parade. Where they still throw candy! The kids loved it.
So what did you all do to celebrate our country’s freedom today?
Happy Independence Day to you all and may God bless America!
